A Christmas Tablescape

“Mad for plaid” , I love plaid ….however, it’s not being used on our Christmas tree this year. So, I thought it would be fun to use some tartan ribbon and ornaments in a Christmas tablescape. I got busy and set the table…very casual, with a little Christmas sparkle. I don’t have much of the plaid , just a touch here and there. By the way, have you seen the holiday table guide by Williams-Sonoma? They mixed and matched traditional Christmas colors and used a festive plaid print. So pretty!
Everyday dishes, glasses and silverware are being used on my tablescape. The touch of plaid can be found in the center of the table where I used ribbon and ran it from one end to the other of the table. It is really hard to see in this picture, sorry about that. I placed an old silver pitcher filled with evergreen in the center and tucked in a few more greens closer to the pitcher.
Some fun ornaments in traditional Christmas colors and pine cones were added to the scape.
At each end of the table the ribbon was tied around the plates and then tied into a bow on top of the plates.
Here we are on the other side. A silver charger is holding more pine cones and ornaments.
Another view of the table, this one includes a silver goblet holding some fun red ornaments.
This fun tartan plaid ribbon was my inspiration. I bought it on clearance a couple of years ago and somehow manage to use it every year at Christmas time. I’m just a little sad I didn’t buy more of the ribbon when I had the chance. That’s how it goes sometime…regrets!
Thanks for playing along….how about you, are you mad for plaid??

I have loved these dishes forever! One of these days, I just won’t be able to fight the urge anymore! I love plaid, especially at Christmas, and when combined with pinecones . . . well, it just doesn’t get any better. The glass plaid ornaments are wonderful! Where, oh where did you get them?
Maria, thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet note…the glass plaid ornaments were purchased a year ago at Dillard’s after Christmas clearance…along with the plaid ribbon. I would love to add a few more!
I adore plaid!! Those ornaments are fantastic, I covet them! I made a bow tree topper for our tree this year, and I now wish it had been out of your tartan ribbon. Love! Saw you at the Sunday Showcase
