A Color Spot on the Front Porch

April 2, 2014 by 7 Comments

We’ve enjoyed some really nice Spring weather and the local nurseries and garden centers are filled with lots of beautiful plants these days. While in the DFW area, we visited The Flower Ranch in Southlake, Tx and their shelves were bursting with color.  I had my iPhone working overtime taking pictures of containers filled with gorgeous plants, just the inspiration I was looking for since I received a beautiful wire basket for my birthday.

Back home it was time to add some pops of color on the front porch.

Patio Flowers

I shopped Walmart and Lowe’s Garden centers locally for the plants shown here.

Patio Planter

The white geranium was on the clearance shelf at Lowe’s, I brought it home and trimmed away the dried and yellow leaves and I’m hoping with some tlc the plant will continue to get stronger and bloom again. Some of my other plants include pansies, snap-dragons, shasta daisies and mini petunias.  Love those plants…they make me smile!  Have you started your Spring planting?

Thank you for visiting!

Those are so gorgeous! I am jealous. It’s still in the 40’s here…but, at least the snow is gone! Keep posting those kind of pics please…I need hope! ;)

Warm weather sounds lovely! All your pretty flowers look great, too.

The planters on your porch look lovely. The wire basket adds a lot of dimension to the arrangement. It is still cold in Ohio, maybe next month will warm up a bit. We had a killer frost last year on May 31st – I hope that does not happen again this year.

Very pretty and cheerful. Still cold here in PA but I did put some dianthus in the urn by my front door. But I’ll hold off on anything else for a while. Spring is taking its time to get to the northeast!

I can’t put anything out yet – but can’t wait!
    Happy Spring
