A Fresh New Look
February 18, 2013 by admin • 24 Comments
Last weekend with paint-brush in hand I gave a couple of vintage pieces a fresh new look. One of happened to be a small dresser which I shared about it here. The other item was a primitive side-table I picked up at an estate sale years ago. It’s a small round table that has been moved around from room to room and is now residing in the living room.
I decided to leave top as is and painted the bottom portion of the table only.
Love the patina on top ….it just adds more character to the table.
Here she is in the living-room….sporting a new look!
This little bird looks like he’s lost…
Oh, I have to show off my fountain pen from ? years ago, (vintage??? right). I’ve included it in this small table-top vignette of old books and such.
One last look at the table-top since it will probably be changed up a bit for Spring in the next week or two. Can you believe Easter is just right around the corner? Have you started your “Spring Decorating”?
As always, such a pleasure to have you visit “at Home”.

I love the layers so much! XO, Aimee
The table is gorgeous. I love how you left the top as is. Very nice. I also really like how you put the fountain pen in your vignette. Very clever!
So pretty and serene. I love the stacked books with the pen on top.
Hugs,
Nici
The vignette on top of your table is just as lovely, as the table. I love that you left the top unpainted – it has a much more elegant look. So pretty!!
LOVE the tables new look Moni! Love the whole vignette, especially that pretty lamp!
I, too, love that you didn’t paint the top of that table. It is a beautiful wood top. I love birds also on my tables. And that candle holder is so pretty!
Not yet, Moni!
Spring doesn’t want anything with us… specially on weekends; I start planning going to the garden, Spring cleaning when weather is “more-or-less” Springly during the week and then weekends arrive with Winter in full force.
Lovely Vignette, Sweet Lady. I so love birds and that candle holder is precious, precious.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy “your” Spring.
Teresa
Love it, it says spring is coming! Good job!
Cute, cute table. Paint really freshens up a piece.

I really like furniture that is panted with the top left wooden. A great look. Love your vignette too. XO, pinky
Gorgeous redo. I love the table and your vignette is stunning. How perfect is this. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
That just turned out so beautifully, Moni! Love the vignette with the fountain pen — nice touch. Yes, I started spreading a bit of Easter and “bunnydom” around. I don’t have too many Eastery things, so I mainly do Spring.
Moni, Great transformation on the table and I love your lamp.
Thanks for joining the Open House party.
Love your blog… From your newest follower ..Sherry @ The Rusty Pearl ……… Love all the details and the older posts too. Beautiful blog… Glad that I found you guys.. Blessings, Sherry
Love the contrast of the top with the painted bottom. You styled it beautifully. Look forward to your spring decor.
Hi Moni! Thanks for sharing how you painted your cute table but left the great patina on the top. Your tabletop decor inspires me to “lighten up” and get more white items out of the attic for the approaching warmer weather. I saw your post over at “Stonegable” blog party.
Your table looks beautiful. I love it! I’ve done some Spring decorating, but haven’t brought out the bunnies yet! Have a fabulous weekend.
I like how that turned out! I love your vignette. I’m still fussing with my coffee table. I look for inspiration and I like how you layered this. Now I have to see what I can do!
Love the update, and the fact that you kept the top unpainted. Your vignette is lovely, as always. Especially love the little bird and the books with the fountain pen. Great job Moni!

You succeeded in freshening and updating – we all need to do that from time to time (especially this time of year!) Happy weekend from the enchanted oven!

What a lovely tablescape!
The table looks lovely and that is such a pretty vignette.
Lovely little table….a little paint always makes the wood look prettier, to me. Perfect vignette too.
The two-toned table looks great! Thanks for linking up
