Breakfast on the Blue and White
February 14, 2013 by admin • 25 Comments
Lately I’ve been using some of the vintage linen that has been stashed away in the closet. Why not use it to everyday? What am I waiting for? This morning we enjoyed breakfast on the blue and white table-top.
I own a couple of plates in the blue and white pattern and mixed them with my Mikasa and Villeroy Boch. The vintage table-runner is actually a curtain or cover that used to hang from a shelf. The kitchen shelf had several hooks for tea-towels and the curtain in front would cover them nicely. (Childhood – memory)
I love this picture of different textures and patterns….European mix and match.
Check out the coffee grinder on the tray….I actually remember using one like that long time ago.
Here is another look at the table-runner with that beautiful cross-stitch. I hope you enjoyed the quick trip down memory lane….
Have a wonderful day! So thankful you stopped by!

Hello Moni,
I am German (living in Scotland) and I subscribed to your blog a while ago. I love your photos a lot! This table runner is just beautiful and matches perfectly your wonderful china. Thanks for allowing us to peek around a bit. I am just missing delicious breakfast (rolls, jam, butter) on your table
Love from Nessie
I am so liking blue and white these days so I was immediately drawn to your table. Funny thing though I have nothing in that color combination which may be why it’s catching my eye.
I adore the the blue and white dishes and linen! its beautiful and I wish I had them at my home! absolutely love them.
I’m so ready to pull out some of my blue and white for a table. Your design was a breath of fresh air. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
Beautiful table! Love blue and white together!
Love this! I have those same saucers and I just love them. You have inspired me to use them with one of my white tea cups, since I did not get a cup to go with my saucers, but just love them! That cross-stitched table runner was so pretty too! Thanks for sharing!

I love your blue and white table setting. I just pulled out some of my blue and white pieces from a cupboard and arranged them on a shelf. I had forgotten all about them until I saw a blog about a blue and white kitchen.
Enjoy your crisp and clean look.
ooooohhh, love that table runner w/blue cross stitch. So pretty. Don’t know if it’s my age and memories or just love vintage linens. I do use some of mine now.
I have many of the 40′s, 50′s tablecloths. Those things never wear out. I used a couple to cut panels from them to make burlap table runners. Seemed silly to just keep them out in shed, decided to find a good use for them. Use fancier type dresser covers and doilies to make cushion covers.
The blue/white of your cloth is gorgeous with your dishes. I don’t have a lot of dishes, especially china type. Barely have room for the Fiesta ware let alone china. I can imagine you cherish your pretty dishes. Since I’ve been reading so many blogs I’ve come to wish I had some pretty china. You have a great blog so thought I’d subscribe. Happy Week
I love classic blue and white together, and your Breakfast tablescape is lovely! That table runner is so pretty.
