Christmas at Home
December 10, 2012 by admin • 41 Comments
Hi sweet friends! It’s a pretty chilly outside, so please come in and stay for a while as I share some of the Christmas decorations in our humble home. I like to keep it simple, using natural elements whenever possible with accents of a little sparkle and shine here and there.
I think we’re almost ready for Christmas, maybe just a few tweaks and adding some presents under the tree!
I love the sparkle and glitter of this scrolly tree….
This sweet nativity is set up on the book-shelf , next to the mantle. I’ve added my new Willow Tree Shepherdess and her lambs to the set.
I decided on a small table-top-tree this year and simple decor on the coffee table.
The sideboard in the breakfast area is decorated for Christmas with some fresh greens and candles.
A closer look … under the cloche is a vintage Goebel angel. He’s been with us for many years. I think there is a small candle that belongs to him, I’m still looking for that one.
Still have my server on the counter top filled with pine-cones and ornaments. Now, if I could find the time to bake some cookies, I know just how to plate them up.
A little Christmas decor in the powder room….I’ve shared how to make the burlap pocket here.
And this cheerful arrangement can be found in the Guest Room.
Merry Christmas to All…..I hope you’ll come back really soon!
Your visits and comments have been such a delight, please know that I appreciate you all so much!

Everything has a special kiss of Christmas, I love the detail you put to the guest bedroom also! It’s so much easier then having to store tons of holiday blankets like my mom used to do…:-)

Your home looked beautiful all dressed for Christmas!!
Where did you get the sweet scrolled sparkled Tree with star on top on your mantle please? as well as I love your wooden star, Mary
Thank you for stopping by, Mary. The scrolled sparkled tree was a clearance item two years ago at a local decor shop…the wooden star, did you mean the white one on the server? That one came from Joanne’s Craft and Fabric store. Have a great week!
Moni, we here have what is called Mens Shed, for all retired or interested men to meet, chat, start different projects for the community etc. I don’t have tools so I took the idea of he wooden Christmas trees to them and in our heatwave they are starting on what should be nice wood trees for me to paint up and then all the great decorating items I have and no doubt will come across through the year I can go mad and pretty up for Christmas. We also have a womens refuge here in Maitland Australia[ like so many places] anyway I thought these guys may do some more trees for me to make up Christmas parcels for the poor women and children who need the cheering up . hugs Mary
Thanks for stopping by Mary…good luck on the Christmas tree projects!
Mary again, forgot to mention these trees are small4″, then medium 6″ and not too sure the biggest, but trust the carpenters to do them nice, thank you for the ideas, Mary
