Cute Cotton Bolls

November 1, 2012 by 16 Comments

Hello sweet Friends! Living out in West Texas we passed by a lot of cotton fields on the way home from the Dallas area.   I just had to jump out of the car and help myself to a few cotton bolls. Many of you had displayed them so beautifully and it totally inspired me. Among all of the chores on my list today, I couldn’t wait to get busy with a fun little project.   Making some changes to the top of the entry table and include my new little find.

See,  I didn’t help myself to too many !?!?  They look a little messy right here though.

Here they are tucked into a small fall vignette, notice the small gold leaf dish and the brassy candle holder? Both of them estate sale purchases.

Another look at the table,  the color combination is natural….lots of cream/white, brown and gold with pops of red and rust in the leaves.  I hope your day is beautiful and filled with joy…..Thank you for visiting my blog,  you make my day special.

Lovely vignettes. Wish I could find some cotton around here but not likely in Minnesota. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

  13. Love it! I am so sentimental about cotton because my mother picked it when she was a child {not for fun – for survival!}. I’d love to do a similar project.

    Warmly, Michelle

I live in West Texas too and we have a cotton gin just down the road from us! I have never stopped to “pick” some cotton but I think I just might now! hehe This is a great idea! Would have never thought to incorporate it into my fall decorating! Beautiful! Thanks for such a great idea!
