Fun Find at the Antique Mall
November 8, 2012 by admin • 22 Comments
A couple of months ago our family enjoyed a weekend in Granbury, Tx. We had so much fun celebrating our granddaughter’s 10th birthday and we (the girls) also had a chance to visit some of the cutest antique shops on the town-square. Little ole me didn’t bring her camera, so sorry no pictures!
However, I can show you what I brought back home with me.
I spotted this galvanized drawer in one of the booths at an antique mall – thinking ” I can use this”.
I believe it is a Library- Index- Card- Catalog Drawer…..very generous in size.
I took her home and stashed her away for a while, but I think with Christmas just around the corner I’ll have fun filling er’ up. She might end up as a table centerpiece or compliment the sideboard with Christmas cheer.
Just wanted to share this fun treasure with you today and hopefully you’ll be back to check on us.
I just love it when you visit!!

Moni, I just love your brief little “shout outs” to the blog world. You’re on my side bar and every day I look forward to stopping by to see what’s going on in your world. Love your drawer..and your blog!
Such a great find. The possibilities are endless for drawers like that! I have one in my kitchen filled with herbs and squash.

I like that, can’t wait to see what you do with it. I also like the stressed shutter.
Fabulous find! I can think of a million things to do with it, oh the possibilities. I want one
Hi Moni! I love that library card file. I would have arm-wrestled you for it if I had been there! So glad you were able to pick it up and show it to us. I’m sure whatever you decide to do with it, it’ll be very tasteful. I’m meeting some friends for lunch on Monday at an antique mall, and I’m keeping my eye out for one of my own.
. Have a great weekend!
Debbie
I Love it.

I always feel that everyone find great stuff at Antiques and I don’t :poorme:
But I understand when a piece “talk” to us and we see beyond its present state or its previous “job”.
Lovely fing! Looking forward to learn what you’re going to do with it.
I Love your blog!

How nice you turned it to a shelf. Goes well and another function look. Antique markets are always of treasures.

Ooooh. I love that drawer! It’s so gorgeous in its simplicity (and nostalgia). I can’t wait to see what all you do with it. Found you via The Dedicated House.
I lOVE the drawer you found. Very charming! I like the idea of standing it up so you have some little shelves. I’m sure you’ll have fun with that piece.

Great find! Love it standing on end the way you have it. And that shutter is gorgeous, too.

Put her sidewise and you’ll have extra shelving on top of your counter/sideboard, which is always helpful in the holidays when you have lots to display and to serve. Just a thought. Maybe you like this idea. It is a really fun box to decorate with.
great find…it makes a fun shelf
