Fun Friday Find

Hi there,  I hope you’re having a lovely weekend – the weather in our neck of the woods is perfect right now with day time temps in the upper 60’s. Our plans for the weekend changed since the kids had to cancel their visit due to a sick little one. Hubby is still recuperating from shoulder surgery and doing well…he’ll start physical therapy on Monday.  I’m keeping busy with my chores around the house and running errands. On Friday I stopped by an estate sale, I was just about to leave empty handed when I spied a pendulum wall clock.

I had seen this image in one of my daily reads and it was stuck in my mind. You see, I was looking to make a change over the sideboard and removed the plates (my version of a gallery wall) before Christmas. This inspiration pic prompted me to buy the clock and fill the bare wall over the server.

Clock over sideboard

This spot is perfect for this clock and I couldn’t be happier now that I got the pendulum working!  The two candlesticks were purchased at Hobby Lobby….I like the fun colors!

During the picture taking process I tweaked the sideboard a bit more….you know I can’t leave things alone, got to have my piddle time.

I’m still contemplating painting my sideboard, wish I could make up my mind about that.  I seriously think about it and then fear of making a mistake creeps in.  Do you ever have that feeling?

How was your weekend?  I also would like to thank you for the well-wishes for hubby ( he asked me to be sure to add this to my post). Thanks so much, y’all!

I love the clock Moni…looks great where you hung it! Love the pretty vignette you created on your buffet too!
Sorry to hear your kids couldn’t make it…hope the little one is feeling better!

Lovely vignette with the clock above. I vote for no paint – I love the warm wood patina.

  3. Kathy says:

I also went to an estate sale over the weekend but wasn’t as lucky as you to find something so decorative and useful at the same time and left empty handed Please don’t paint that beautiful piece of furniture; its patina is lovely.

I love your new clock……a great find ! It looks like such a nice piece of furniture…I vote for no paint. I like the contrast with all the white.

  5. Karen K says:

DO NOT PAINT THAT GORGEOUS SIDEBOARD!! I love the wood tones & to paint it would hide all those wonderful brown colors & accents.

Love the clock. Hope you & your hubby are taking good care of one another.

Yes, I too prayed and pray for shoulder healing. Sleep is not comfortable.
I’m very impressed with your finds. You do a good job of clearing out too for your space never looks cluttered. I’m with you about painting! But I look at the beautiful rich woodtones of your quality looking piece and I think, Oh paint something that is kind of Charlie Brown-like and becomes beautiful. For this piece is so pretty as it is!!! I’m no help am I?!!
I’m toying with painting that standard golden oak vanity in my bathroom an ASCP but oh what color?!! But mine needs the paint!!! Yours? You can wait!!!

you are a lucky one…In Germany we would say “SCHNAEPPCHEN”

  8. Karen says:

I love the look of the clock. Please, please, do not paint that lovely piece of furniture. It is gorgeous just the way it is.

I am seriously coveting that clock! So happy you saw it and grabbed it! I have learned that you have to walk around a shop at least twice before leaving! I say paint the sideboard with chalk paint! I am very fearful of that myself but it will come out so pretty!

  10. I love your new clock! Don’t be scared to paint! I’m sure you would do an amazing job. Thank you for sharing at Make it Pretty Monday! Hope to see your prettiness again next Monday! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse

I’m glad your hubby is doing better. Really like that new clock of yours. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that before. Enjoy your day! 😉

  12. Rondell says:

I love your piddle time, I do a lot of that too! I really like the candlesticks, wish our Ikea wasn’t so far from me.
I have those times to where I’m afraid to go ahead but I’ve found out just to go ahead a do it.
BTW where did you get your curtains that I can see in the last photo? I love them.

  13. Dj says:

Don’t paint! It looks like it already has a nice finish and is a good piece of furniture. Remember painting furniture will go out of fashion, I only paint if the piece is made of cheap wood or has a bad finish.

Hi Mona, I can see why you liked the clock. It looks great hanging there. Like those candlesticks too. I’ve never seen any like them. I would have to say that the table would look nice painted with your style, but I agree with some of the earlier comments too. It looks like a nice piece of furniture so you’d want to be really sure before painting. I’m a new blogger and so glad I found yours!

  15. mary says:

Please do not paint that beautiful wood – I love its patina. Lovely vignette on it with your clock!

  16. kaye says:

lovely vignette. I probably wouldn’t paint the server. It looks nice the way it is. The clock is a nice touch.
    I love estate sales.
