Handknit Pillow Cover

July 28, 2014 by 2 Comments

I trust your summer weekend was wonderful and here we are at the beginning of a new week with cooler temps on the way, yay! We miss our grandchildren already – they spent last week with us and on Friday afternoon they went back home. What a blessing they are to us, we had such a great time. During the week I pulled out the crafting bin with some knitting essentials tucked inside. It had been a while since I had some knitting needles in my hand but it all came back to me once I got started.  I decided to knit a chunky pillow for our sofa with my latest inspiration coming from the Pottery Barn Catalog.

Okay, I’m still a beginner when it comes to knitting, so these patterns may be a little too fancy for me, but I figured I could make one using the basic knit and purl. Don’t you just love the cozy feel of a knit pillow next to you?  I do, and Fall with it’s chill in the air will be here before we know it.  So, this is what I’m working on right now, hoping to add this fluffy little pillow to my sofa real soon.

I’ll have to brush up on how to “cast off” …it’s amazing to me how easy we forget.  I can’t wait to share the finished project with y’all next time.

Thank you for visiting!
