Ideas for a simple Thanksgiving Table Centerpiece

November 6, 2013 by 29 Comments

I was thinking about Thanksgiving and how to dress up the table with color and texture that would compliment the seasonal feast. Keeping it simple and natural, I started pulling some things out.  I had everything on hand for this project, except some fresh fruit which I picked up on a quick errand to the market.  Do you remember the planter box hubby built for me out of fence board?   Well, it’s been painted once again, creamy white in a rustic sort of way.

Fall Centerpiece 1

The box resembles a gathering basket and was filled with fruit, nuts, berries, wheat and colorful leaves.

Fall Centerpiece 2

I placed a leafy garland on the bottom of the box and started layering the bountiful harvest, scattering walnuts on top for extra texture.

And while taking pictures of the centerpiece I decided to pull out some of my dishes for more of a visual effect.

This type of arrangement placed in the center of the table leaves plenty of room for yummy side dishes or dessert items.

Fall Centerpiece 6

All of this came together in a very short amount of time….so if you are looking for an easy centerpiece to dress up your holiday table, just add some fruit, berries and nuts in a bowl or box and you’ll be set.

Til next time….

  3. I love the simplicity of your table setting. I’m definitely inspired to try this for mine since I already have a set of white dishes from the Dollar Tree. I’ve been meaning to pick up more white serving pieces; your post is more incentive to do just that.
