Mix and Match Spring Tablescape

March 17, 2014 by 22 Comments

I couldn’t resist, I set out my sheep dishes and played; adding a touch of Spring to the breakfast table.  Even though Spring is slow to arrive outside; my tabletop is celebrating this special season dressed in green and white.  We need rain so desperately around here but it always seems to pass us by, I’m praying for a good rain to come our way soon.

Spring Table 5

I totally mismatched placemats, napkins, and tableware on purpose….but it all works together. A neutral, rustic background with pops of color and texture.

Spring Tablescape

I love these small dessert plates I picked up at Pier 1,  they work so well with the sheep dishes. The sheep dishes were purchased in Germany.  They are called “Schaefchen” by Zell.  I’m not sure if they are still available.

Spring Table 1

I so enjoy using them around this time of year, there is something so simple and sweet about them.

Spring Table 2

My guess is I’ll go back and purchase a couple more of the Melamine dishes from Pier 1.  They also have them in blue but green works better for me.

Spring Table 4

Aren’t they just the cutest little lambs?

I agree this is a simplistic approach to an elegant designed tablescape, dear one! I adore your sheep plates and mugs! Having lived seven years in Germany, this dinnerware brought back many wonderful memories of our years in Baumholder. Simpler times, simpler lives. Intriquing choice of placemats! I am quite smitten with the blending of the textures combined with my all time favorite color palette! A unique design with a creative decorator’s touch. . .perfection!
