My Plate Gallery Wall today…
January 29, 2013 by admin • 22 Comments
I find it challenging to create a pretty plate gallery wall. There is lots of inspiration on Pinterest and over the weekend I tried my best to create a plate gallery over the sideboard. I must admit, finding the right color combination and design or placement of the plates was a little frustrating and fun at the same time. Here is what it looks like so far and most likely I will tweak it, again.
This gallery represents a collection of plates, vintage and new, keeping the color combination somewhat neutral, pulling in grey from the breakfast area and gold tones from the family room. I would like to find a couple more vintage plates to expand this gallery a little bit further and to add some more interest to it.
I treated myself to a couple of new plates while browsing housewares at Dillard’s one day. The grey paisley plate is by “echo design” and the yellow plate is by Daniel Cremieux (on sale). The other plates and platters I had on hand ~ I just realized the need for some plate disc hangers…next on my list!
Isn’t this the cutest bundle of spring flowers? Faux plant – but it looks real. I found it at World Market – plant only. I put it in a small white bowl and tucked in some moss around it. I’m still fluffing the breakfast area and I will keep y’all posted.
So what have you been up to this past weekend? I always enjoy hearing from you!

Beautiful display Moni!!
Beautiful plates and table top! I think I would move that tan plate a little further away from the one on the left of it. But don’t take my word for it…you did a much better job than I would have. Thanks for posting. I love love love plates!
I love the plates Moni! I’m rotten at trying to arrange things in a random pattern, not that there’s anything remotely random about it, just that it’s supposed to look that way! And yours looks fantastic, but for what it’s worth, I’m with Vicki…maybe move the gold one over a smidge to the right. That’s one look I will probably not try to duplicate. I know my limits! I can’t believe that daffodil isn’t real, it sure looks like it. I wish we had a World Market around here.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Debbie
Thank you Debbie, I just found another plate and will add to /tweak the plate gallery. Have a great day!
Oh your plate gallery looks great. i really like it and hope to create one this year too in our newly painted bedroom. i am posting about it later this week. i really like how you created a pattern with the plates…they are all working together and not just thrown up there. Very cute!
Thank you Jennifer, it’s a fun project… I’m still tweaking mine a little. I can’t wait to see your latest project! Have a great day!
Looking really good, Moni! I’m with the other two ladies…maybe move the yellow plate a little to the right. I have been wanting to do a plate wall, too. I think I’ll wait until we re-do our master bedroom and do one in there. Have you seen Kevin and Layla Palmer’s (The Lettered Cottage) new plate wall? It’s gorgeous! Here’s the link, in case you haven’t seen it:

Thank you Melanie, I love visiting the Lettered Cottage Blog, so much inspiration there! Have a great day!
I like it that plate walls are back “in”. Alas I don’t have that kind of wall but I love looking at the sizes, shapes and kinds. You have a no design one color per plate theme going. I like how you are mixing in gray, gold and white and is that pewter?? It’s very fun!! And to find pretty plates at Dillard’s is special too. It’s something I personally don’t want you to quickly change!!! Well add to it but let plates rule again as a form of art!!!
These look great! It’s a real knack to do something like this and you definitely have it
Have a great week!
Really pretty Moni, love the gray plate! I’ll have to look for those on my next shopping trip!
