Nesting on the Breakfast Table

April 3, 2014 by 18 Comments

One of my birthday gifts was a cute little bird nest and I just had to get creative and use it in a Springtime centerpiece.  I was giving the bunnies a break and dressed the table with birds, nests, flowers and of course some dishes.  Celebrating Spring in a simple and natural way.

Birdnest Tablescape

The center of the table was staged with birds, nests filled with moss and eggs,  a sweet shasta daisy, a wooden initial – L -and sitting on top is a cute little bird.  Lots of natural elements mixed with fine glassware and china.

I used Mikasa everyday dishes and layered them with my Villeroy and Boch china.

Love the little shasta daisies and can’t wait to transplant them into the flowerbed soon.

Market Street ( our local grocery store) had these cute robin eggs, several in a bag for $4.99…I just had to get one.

While I was playing with dishes and nests, I switched out the china and used another set of everyday dishes along with some of my hobnail milk glass collection.

I think I’ll remove the dishes and  keep the centerpiece on the table until I get ready to plant the daisies.  Enough playing for today, my chores are calling me.

I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit!

  15. Mona, I think we were thinking similar thoughts with our post this week.
Spring is everywhere much to my delight.

I love your tablescape and am very fond of milk glass even though I don’t have any. I am also planning to plant some shasta daisies.

This is very pretty! Love those Shasta daisies, they don’t get nearly the attention they should in the flower world.
