My latest tablescape came together because of a blue pumpkin. I had never seen blue pumpkins prior to this year, where have I been? Were they available last year? I have to say, I love them. So this pumpkin became the centerpiece of what I call my ”Oh so simple, casual Pre-Thanksgiving Table”.
I didn’t have any votives on hand, so I decided to place some candles in a couple of wine glasses filled with corn kernels. It provides stability for the candles and adds a bit more color and texture to the tablescape.
The table was set with my everyday dishes. The gold-rim plates are vintage, they bring back sweet memories of my mom using them as part of her holiday table setting while I was just a little girl growing up in Germany. I was able to rescue the salad plates years ago, not sure what ever happened to the dinner plates and other parts of this set. I’m just happy to have the smaller plates grace my table during the holidays.
