Simple Summer Mantle

August 14, 2014 by 5 Comments

Hi sweet friends!  I hope you’re doing well. Can you believe it’s the middle of August already?  Where did the time go?  I have to say, so far the summer weather has been great!  Not too hot, and we had a couple of cooler days with some welcomed rain.  Our garden is pretty much spent and tired looking this time of year, same goes for the plants in my pots on the porches.  The sweet potato vine is going gang busters though – love the chartreuse color it adds to the front porch.  I was looking for some flowers to bring inside the house and decided to pick up a garden variety pack at the grocery store.  Instant happiness!

For a simple summer look I divided the bouquet and added some cheerful daisies to the mantel.

I put the rest of the flowers into a wicker basket and placed them on the kitchen table.  What can I say, flowers make me happy!

Rumor has it the painters are coming next week…I’ve already selected the paint color for the kitchen cabinets.  I’ll keep you posted on the progress.

Sending hugs your way,

So bright touch you have over there. I must confess I am envying mantels…I don’t have one by myself, but I love to see all the arrangements done over them.

  3. Love! Simple but pretty, just the way I like my decor. 🙂
I definitely need some of those candlesticks, too!

  4. Love the bright pops of yellow flowers on the mantle. Even from afar they bring the eyes a glint of happy!
