Spring on my Front Door
March 15, 2013 by admin • 32 Comments
Yellow is such a happy color and it was time to put some happiness on the front-door. I picked up a few supplies at Hobby Lobby and Michaels and started crafting…recognize the feathers and eggs? I used some of them to create this Spring arrangement I shared about yesterday, and the remaining heap of feathers was used to embellish this wreath.
I purchased a plain round grapevine-wreath and infused it with some color and texture.
We recently pruned some of our trees and some of the smaller branches (cut up into sticks) were added to the grapevine wreath for extra volume and texture.
I gave it a good trim all the way around….and it was ready to be decorated.
Next, I added some faux Forsythias, small feathers and eggs.. I am so happy I also purchased a new glue-gun. I had been using a low-temp glue gun, but for larger crafting projects I actually prefer using the “hot” one.
Here is another look at the finished project….Happy Spring Y’all!

It turned out so pretty! I love how you used extra sticks to give it more texture. The yellow pops of color are beautiful too.

It turned out beautifully. Good idea to add the branches to the wreath. I use a glue POT. I talk about it i this post if you are interested: http://designsbypinky.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-new-spring-wreath-and-tutorial.html

Moni, this is a beautiful wreath. I love the color yellow. It’s such a happy color. Adding in the branches was a clever idea.
You have inspired me! I love how you added the extra sticks & LOVE the feathers & eggs!! Such a pretty wreath for Spring! And a WELCOME sign for guest who come to visit! Love!!
It looks great Moni! I LOVE how you added the twigs. Very clever. The forsythia is lovely, and the eggs and feathers are such a harbinger of spring, you can’t go wrong. Well done.

Love Love Love it!
I just love yellow. So cheery.
Love your wreath….it caught my eye because it is an almost perfect match to the one I did for our mantle. I did the post about whether to use real or fake flowers for decor….in this case fake is great!
Love yellow forsythias. I have one hanging on my front door even though my winter Urn is still full.
I’ll welcome in spring even though it is still winter.
Lovely ideas!!
Moni, I love what you did with the wreath. I’m in need of a new Spring wreath this year myself and I love yellow forsythia! Thanks for sharing!
Kim

Hi Moni! This is my first time here and I’m very happy to meet you! Stopping by from Cozy Little House. I have to say I love yellow, especially at this time of year. It’s a much needed dose of color after a long, grey winter. Your wreath is so pretty and what a great idea to use your trimmings to fill it in. Have a great week!
This is a beautiful wreath and the perfect addition to your door.
