Table for Two

October 30, 2012 by 28 Comments

It is nice to get dressed up every once in a while, I bet my table feels the same way.  Having some of the cotton bolls left over, I started thinking of ways to incorporate them in my small table setting.  Here is what I came up with:

My color story is set in natural , browns and creams.  I’ve recently purchased a couple of leaf-shaped plates at T.J. Maxx and couldn’t wait to use them in my table setting.

The wooden tray in the center of the table is holding a jar filled with branches and cotton bolls.  Tied loosely to the jar is an antique looking ornament.  Scattered inside the tray are some almonds, a couple of pine-cone/acorn spheres and some boo’s.  All of these elements add texture and interest to the center of the table.

This was fun!   Thank you for joining my table for two!

We had cotton growing nearby but I didn’t get my husband to scope it out for me. A small bouquet is fun to admire and fun to find the oily cottonseed buried deep within!! Almond trees were nearby and we didn’t even glean a few from friends. Next year? I’m keeping this tablescapes in mind for sure!!! So pretty. Oh I also enjoyed the fun Texas photos too!
