An Easy DIY Project

Hello there lovelies!  How is your week going?  We always get excited this time of the year, summer vacation…that means grandkids are coming over to see us and spend a few days.  I just started a little make-over in the guest room, getting it ready for our visitors.

I’m sure you can guess what I’m doing here….hammer and measuring tape in hand I tackled this easy diy project over the weekend.

This is the before picture.  I was ready for a change and decided to recover the headboard.  The bedding stays, but I’m hoping to add some fun pillows.

This has been a very inexpensive makeover…I used painters drop cloth and embellished with furniture nails.

I’m really pleased how it turned out. Now I’m ready to shop for a few more accessories for the room and then I’m ready for the full reveal.  I think I’ll check out Target today.

Have a blessed week!

Thank you for visiting!

The Other Wall

Hi friends! I hope your week is off to a good start!  I woke up really early to rumble and rain this morning, welcomed rain for sure.  Recently I talked about refreshing our guest room.  It wasn’t a huge makeover or anything – I’ve re-upholstered the headboard, added some new pillows to the bed and changed out the curtains. On the other wall, opposite from the bed I added this white mirror from Target, it is the perfect size for this space and adds light color and sparkle to the room.

This fun galvanized bucket with rope handles also jumped in my basket at Target.  I think it looks so pretty filled with a happy plant I bought at Walmart and a sweet heart I found in my box of “this and that” and decided to attach it to one of the rope handles.

And while shopping at Walmart I found this white pillow with a sweet scalloped trim, it came home with me and ended up in the guest room.

I like how fresh and summery this room feels right now….like a summer breeze!  Still contemplating painting this bench…can you believe I haven’t even tried chalk paint yet?  I see another fun project on the horizon.

As always, thank you for visiting!
