The painted Dresser
February 12, 2013 by admin • 36 Comments
Recently I decided the guest bedroom needed some fluffing and got busy painting a small vintage dresser that had been stored in the closet for a while. I used left-over paint from a previous project and did my best to achieve the look that says: They still love me, after all these years!
The oak dresser has several coats of paint on it, the latest color is “City Storm” by Valspar. As you can tell I distressed it quite a bit after the painting process so that the previous color shows through.
It still has the original hardware (hanging on by a thread, literally) which I painted black and used some sandpaper to reveal some of the original color around the edges.
Here is just a sneak-peak of what I’ve been working on…..
Can I just say, at this rate it will take me forever to finish this room…ha! Stay tuned!!
So glad you stopped by….love to hear from you!

Beautiful job Moni! I love it!!
That little dresser has looked beautiful with every color you’ve painted it. This one is particularly gorgeous. Is that new bedding I see?
Hugs,
Nici
That looks great!
The dresser is beautiful Moni! I love what you did with the knobs. For some reason, I never think to paint and distress hardware, but yours looks awesome. I’ll have to give it a try sometime.
