Updates in the Master

January 27, 2014 by 20 Comments

I’ve started a couple of mini-makeovers here at home and it’s taking me a while to get the finished look.  Our master bedroom was a project long overdue and I finally found the courage to take pictures of the before and after. I will tell you that a flash was used while taking pictures of the room since it is pretty dark in there with the windows facing north. First on the list, change the bedding.

Master Bedroom

Below is the “before” shot.

Master Bedroom 1

I loved the bedding…”Safari” by Tommy Hilfiger years ago, but it was time to retire the set. Over time and many dry cleanings the fabric became dull and faded.

Master Bedroom 2

The white coverlet and shams are by Fieldcrest and were purchased at Target a while back.  I really got excited when I saw the euro shams at Potterybarn on sale and had to order them.  I knew they would work well in this room with just a hint of gold in them.  The blue linen toss pillow is also from PB.

Master Bedroom 3

This room is a work in progress since I’m still looking for some art work, not to mention the wall opposite from the bed…oh, I can’t share that with y’all just yet.  I’m so happy the treadmill was moved out of here, I don’t know why we put it in here in the first place other than I thought we would use it more if we saw it on a daily basis.  It is now in one of the guest bedrooms, begging us to come and use it!!

Master Bedroom 4

I’m pleased with the update so far and I’m looking forward to tweaking the room a bit more.  Maybe include a picture collage on the wall? We have tons of family photos in frames tucked away, they are all mis-matched frames that have been accumulated over time and I will have to go through and paint the frames or get more mats to make the collage happen.  I will keep you posted on the progress of the master.

As always, thank you for visiting!

What a lovely change! The room looks so crisp and fresh. I’d love to overhaul my bedroom set, but just don’t know what direction I want to go in. I really do like the way the white pops out, so you are tempting me to start a search! Well done!
