Valentine’s Vignette

I can’t help but share my excitement..the tulips are in!! On a recent trip to the supermarket my eyes immediately went to the flower display where fun colors of tulips lined the shelves. A potted pink tulip jumped into my basket and came home with me. My thoughts quickly shifted to Valentine’s Day, and a couple of vignettes and some table-scaping started happening right then. I separated the tulips, leaving some in the pot, taking a couple of bulbs out and transplanted them into a quart jar.
I found that the shutter still lends itself as the perfect backdrop for some of my vignettes. So I set up shop right in front of it. A cake pedestal was lined with a paper napkin and some valentine goodies were placed on top.
The candy-coated sunflower kernels look like happy confetti in this small glass jar, while a candle tucked inside adds a warm glow to the vignette. Right next to it, leaning against the mason jar is a “homespun” looking heart…(found it at Target on clearance).
Here is a slightly different version, I added a white wooden heart and attached it to the mason jar with some twine. Also added were the ironstone pitcher stacked on top of the sugar bowl and a heart- shaped cookie cutter. While I enjoyed playing up the vignettes, I also managed to set a small table-scape, I will share that in another post coming up. Are you decorating for Valentine’s Day?
I’m so glad you stopped by, have a great day and stay warm!!

Wonderful vignette, I’m crazy about tulips! The shutter is the perfect backdrop, and I love the elegant simplicity of it all!
Moni, I never thought of transplanting the bulbs from those store pots of tulips! It’s snowing here so a little bright spring color would definitely help. Linda
Beautiful displays! They’re inspiring me to start decorating for Valentine’s Day. So glad I found your post from Delightful Order!
The shutter is fab, but I love that combination of the ironstone and cookie cutter. I see a lot of people decorating with candies but I just want to eat them
! I tried to really brainstorm for Valentine’s Day and got the great idea to use wedding photos, our wedding album and Valentine cards from the last 33 years of our marriage! Turned out wonderful!
I love your Valentines tray … each version.
And, things jump into my cart at times … glad I am not the only one.
But only cute things, like tulips.

It’s so much fun to have flowers in the wintertime, so I appreciated the tulips in your vignettes, Moni. I also love the red and white twine, and the lovely sugar and creamer. I haven’t done much decorating for Valentine’s Day in the past, but am doing a bit this year. Have a great weekend!
Tulips are my favorite flower! Yours look beautiful along with all your other beautiful pieces. Megan
