Welcome Spring

One of my most favorite things to do is making a wreath. Just in time for Spring I added a touch of color to the front door.  A simple grapevine wreath was fluffed with some forsythia branches and a sweet bird nest.

Spring Wreath

I had purchased these cute birds at Hobby Lobby some time ago, along with some forsythia branches and a spool of burlap ribbon. The bird and the ribbon looked like they were made for each other.

Birdie was taken off his stand and a bow was created from the ribbon.  I gathered most of the other items for this project from my craft bin and started putting the wreath together.  First I applied a bit of moss onto the wreath, then tucked the forsythia branches in and glued them in place.  Next I found the perfect spot for the bird and nest, and used my trusty glue gun to secure both.

The little bird nest is small and was filled with moss, jute and some fun buttons.  Birdie already came with one button attached to him, so why not fill the nest with more buttons?

I love the pops of yellow and white against the green front door.

Now, doesn’t this say “Welcome Spring?”

I just love your website, your sweet voice, and all you have to offer! I do have a quick question about the lemon yogurt cake. What kind of pan? (Maybe I missed that part. If so, my apologies.). Thank you.

Also my sympathies to your DIL and family. Very sad.

An adorable wreath to welcome Spring and your guest!!!
One of the first signs of Spring here on the Prairie
is when the forsythia branches begin to show bursts of
    yellow blossoms!!!
Nothing states Spring better for me than the return of
various birds and their amazing songs!!!
Thank you for sharing your handmade wreath with me!!!
