Winterberry Tablescape

Hi Friends! Hope you’re doing well this week and enjoying the Christmas season.  Hubby will have some time off this week and we’re planning a quick trip to the Dallas area to visit some sweet family.  We were suppose to make this trip a couple of weeks ago but the inclement weather changed our plans.  This past weekend we missed out on a special birthday celebration, our youngest grandson turned 7 and our youngest grand-daughter was singing in a wonderful Christmas Cantata, which we were able to watch via live stream on the computer. Anyway, some serious hugs are due and this grandma is planning on coming to town with lots of birthday and Christmas hugs.  Can’t wait to see everyone.

While shopping at Target for our upcoming trip,  I spied these cute dessert plates and brought four of them home with me.  I was planning a casual, oh so simple tablescape and figured these plates would inspire me to come up with a color scheme. You probably know my cupboard is filled with antique white colored dishes that I use everyday dressed up or dressed down. Christmas table 1

I set the table with the dishes, glasses and silverware and of course red linen napkins.

It was the winterberry pattern on the dessert plates that inspired me to pull out more red and gold decorations.

The glass hurricane in the center of the table was filled with fake snow, then I placed a couple of small branches inside and added red and gold ornaments to resemble the berries on the plates.  A red bow on the white pitcher, a red candle and red dinner napkins add just the right amount of Christmas cheer to this table.

Now, I better hurry into the kitchen and do some serious baking.  How are your Christmas preparations coming along?

I’m so glad you stopped by, have a blessed week!

I was in Target today & just glanced at those plates, not really taking in the details. They are pretty!

I guess I’m going to be on the hunt for that red plate you had in yesterday’s vignette!

Have a wonderful trip & I know what you mean about holding all those hugs for your grandchildren. My youngest turned 2 today & can’t wait to see them!

I like the cheerful simplicity of your table. When I see Christmas dishes in any store, I’m trying to turn my head the other way.

Lovely new Winterberry plates! The tablescape’s gold and red hues are lovely with this pattern. I know why you didn’t come to Dallas for our weather shut the metroplex down for days.

Hope your trip is wonderful and hug your grands tight!
