Wintery Touches at Home

December 28, 2013 by 12 Comments

I took down Christmas a little earlier than usual this year and re-arranged a couple of vignettes to add a more wintery feel to the house. My daughter, Nici surprised me with the cutest gift ~ a pillow with a winter motif on it and I couldn’t wait to make room on the sofa for it. The artist I’m familiar with, Lucy from Craftberry Bush. Love her art work!

Christmas gift

Look at the detail of this sweet little bird perching out in the winter snow….Thanks so much, Nici….I love this!!

Did you have a chance to visit some stores for the day after Christmas sales? I found this charming little tree at Pier One for half price.  Another shopper had just set him back on the shelf, where I noticed him and in my basket he went.  It was meant to be, right?

The tree inspired me to gather some other winter cuties and set up this tray on the server.

I added some felt birds I found at Target last year and a small jar I purchased at Anthropologie recently. The plaid red-white napkin adds some extra cheer to the vignette.

I’m still working on other areas of the house switching out the holiday decor.  Before long the new year will be here, I don’t decorate for New Year’s eve…do you?  I’m looking forward to a fresh new start of the new year, a brand new page on the calendar….oh the possibilities!

I’m so glad you stopped by, thank you for reading my blog.

Pretty pillow! I’m on a break from putting Christmas away…guess it was too much, and yet I barely decorated…go figure! I am enjoying winter touches, however…I don’t decorate for the new year either. Enjoy your day…I gotta get back to work! 😉

Your new pillow is adorable. I like to add some winter touches here and there once I pack up the Christmas things. I’ll leave the tree up till New Year’s Day though. Happy New Year!

I have packed away Christmas early this year. I went with birds, also, for winter along with other “B”s” – boots, buckets, and silver bowls! Love the snowy tree with the felt birds.
